THE ROAD
The road that leads to the mountain
Burning of rubber that smells of the
heatThe speed that we all anticipate and see
With the direction we all need
It’s hard to picture the destination
Because we know the hardship it comes with
Yet again we stay strong and hope
We hope that the mountain is not that steep
We hope that the temperature will work with us on our way
We hope that it brings change
The road
Thoughts will always take charge
Words will always try to make it betterBut the reality will always hit harder
Will there be a tunnel?
Will there be an easier way to the other side?
Do we know?
Slowly the motion goes forward
And slowly we start feeling the road straining us
Reflections happen right here
Whether you took a right turn
Don’t stutter
Some roads bring change
While some bring pain
The road
The road is never straight
As we travel along with shaded smilesWind blowing to heart
The gap shortens and eyes popping
We ask ourselves a lot of questions
Is it worth it?
Is the road worth being on?
Do we know what we want on it this journey?
Do we believe that it will bring sanity?
Do we want it to burn less?
This road will always be here
We just make choices to be on it or notWe just feel the heat as we travel
The smell of fresh air
We just feel the pressure as we look besides us
The speed will freak you out
What if we crash?
The road
We will still be here regardless
We will still want to see a differenceWe will still hope for change
We will still need sanity
We will still know the worth
We will still know the fears are to be faced
The road
This road
Your road
